Extrusion
The primary manufacturing process used in plastic flexible packaging is extrusion. Extrusion involves melting polymer resins and forcing the molten polymer through a die to form plastic film. Our processing know-how when it comes to extrusion is based on decades of experience in successful film manufacture. This experience and knowledge is one of Wentus’ particular strengths. A great variety of materials are used together with numerous specific formulations. Indeed, Wentus uses several hundred such formulations in the production of its products.
Films with up to seven layers and complex properties for a variety of applications are produced using different manufacturing processes. These, in turn, result in diverse customised products for either further processing or end applications.
