Environmental responsibility
Environmental protection is one of Wentus’ declared corporate goals. The company strives to combine optimisation of environmental performance and the maximum possible safety of its corporate activities with a commitment to continually improving its environmental record. The focus of Wentus activities to protect the environment is on reducing the environmental impact of its production processes and products. For example, only polyolefin film comprising natural organic components is produced. This means that when disposing of the waste in incineration plants, no dioxins, other toxins or acids are produced. The films are completely safe at the disposal site; neither the ground water nor the air is polluted. As such, these are environmentally compatible raw materials which are handled in moderation. The energy from any waste heat which results from the process is harnessed and fed back into the production process. The exhaust air from our printing machines is fed into a state-of-the-art regenerative post-combustion device and is thus disposed of optimally. Furthermore, all production waste at Wentus is recycled and reused. We are particularly proud of our achievements in generating viable biodegradable packaging alternatives for which we are well known technology leaders.
